Mission With A Vision is a non-religious, non-political, non-profit organization, proudly registered as an NGO in Kenya.
Over the past decade, Mission With A Vision has empowered nearly 1,100 Kenyan girls to escape the harmful practices of female genital mutilation (FGM) and child marriage. Despite limited resources, our dedicated team works tirelessly, often at great personal risk, to protect and educate vulnerable children.
Founded in 1997, Mission With A Vision operates a safe house for teenage girls and offers educational scholarships to provide them with brighter futures. Additionally, we collaborate with community elders to help reconcile families, a sensitive process that can take months of negotiation and counseling.
Looking ahead, we are committed to expanding our impact. Over the next three years, our goal is to double the number of girls we support to an average of 250 annually. We will also broaden our advocacy efforts, using educational and communications programs to challenge and shift local attitudes. By engaging families, community leaders, religious figures, and especially teenagers, we aim to foster an environment where FGM and child marriage are not only illegal but socially unacceptable.

A Sanctuary for Girls Escaping FGM and Child Marriage

From Survival to Success
At just 12 years old, Josephine was nearly forced into marriage after her dowry had already been arranged. With support from Mission With A Vision, she escaped the marriage, continued her education, and found safety at the safe house. Despite years of emotional hardship and pressure from her family, Josephine persevered and graduated from Kabarak University with a degree in Law. Today, she works in Narok and hopes to create mentorship programs for young girls facing similar challenges.
Rachael once believed her education would end after primary school and that early marriage would define her future. Through a scholarship provided by Mission With A Vision and its supporters, she completed high school, graduated from college as a teacher, and began building a new future for herself and her family. Today, Rachael serves as deputy principal at a secondary school in Kenya, where she encourages students—especially girls—to pursue education and believe in their potential.
Growing up in the Majengo slums, Grace faced extreme poverty after her father abandoned the family. Although she was accepted into one of Kenya’s top high schools, attending seemed impossible until Mission With A Vision stepped in to support her education. Grace went on to become a nurse and now works at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Pennsylvania. She continues to use her story to inspire other girls to pursue education and avoid early marriage and FGM.
